Current projects

Small wooden shelves (woodwork)

I'm making some sets of small shelves for my kitchen, so I can tidy up my flock of storage jars.

Tools used: chop saw, rulers, set square, PVA. Soon to be sanded and varnished.

Overhaul Land Rover winch (mechanical)

I've brought a mechanical winch into Makespace, to take it apart and overhaul it. With Roger's and MarkT's help, we've got the faceplate off, and will soon drain the rest of the oil from it and perhaps take it apart further.

GPS/GSM tracker for Land-Rover using Telit GM862 (electronics)

Currently on hold until I finish some of the other projects.

Completed projects

None yet (or at least, none completed within Makespace).

Planned projects

Restore Teletype ASR33 (electronics) (mechanical)

Make Schwebebahn for spider plants, along the cable racking (mechanical) (electronics)

Other projects

  • Versor Versatile Cursors for Emacs (flexibly map arrow keys etc to various kinds of movement)
  • Muesli: Generic scripting language interface with plugins for languages
  • MuLVOC: Multi-Lingual Vocabulary storage
  • Stretch Land-Rover to 6-wheeler (not inside Makespace!) and add electric drive to rear axle, using home-made VFD PWM controller
