When creating events for Makespace please observe this regime. Without following this we will spam people a *lot* and some of our makers on the meetup group have left because of this
- Please refer to 'Makers'/'Everyone' when talking about people that are members of meetup
- Please refer to 'Members' or 'Paying members' when talking about signed-up-£40/month members
Also, please check the calendar before choosing a timeslot for your meeting, and avoid clashes when these will cause problems. Normally, only one meeting can use the Meetspace, for example.
If the event is open to anyone
- Add 'Open to all' or 'Open to everyone' in the event title
- When creating the event, choose NOT to notify members automatically via email (see the picture below)
- Make RSVP mandatory
- You *may* announce the event to the group when you've finished making it
If the event is open only to paying Makespace members
- Add 'Open to (paying) members' somewhere in the description/title
- When creating the event, choose NOT to notify members automatically via email (see the picture below)
- Make RSVP mandatory, add a waiting list if it is a training event, set the number of people
- Please *do not* 'announce' the event to the group
Reducing email
Please set your event so that Meetup does *not* automatically remind people about it.
