"makespace" is looking to bring the FabLab concept to Cambridge. A FabLab consists of:
- A community prototyping lab, equipped with soldering stations, 2d laser cutter, 3d printer, etc
- An associated network to bring together enthusiasts and innovators, the prototyping industry, consultants, businesses and educational communities in a mutually beneficial way
It is aiming to reach people from all across the East of England, using Cambridge as the initial hub.
To get involved, get in touch by one of the following methods:
- We have a MeetUp group at http://www.meetup.com/makespace/
- There's a mailing list - sign up at http://makespace.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/makespace
- On IRC - #makespace on Freenode. You can also access this via your browser at http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=makespace.
