When creating events for Makespace please observe this regime. Without following this we will spam people a *lot* and some of our makers on the meetup group have left because of this

  1. Please refer to 'Makers'/'Everyone' when talking about people that are members of meetup
  2. Please refer to 'Members' or 'Paying members' when talking about signed-up-£40/month members

Also, please *check the calendar* before choosing a timeslot for your meeting, and avoid clashes when these will cause problems. Normally, only one meeting can use the Meetspace, for example.

If the event is open to anyone

  1. Add 'Open to all' or 'Open to everyone' in the event title
  2. When creating the event, choose NOT to notify members automatically via email (see the picture below)
  3. Make RSVP mandatory
  4. You *may* announce the event to the group when you've finished making it

If the event is open only to paying Makespace members

  1. Add 'Open to (paying) members' somewhere in the description/title
  2. When creating the event, choose NOT to notify members automatically via email (see the picture below)
  3. Make RSVP mandatory, add a waiting list if it is a training event, set the number of people
  4. Please *do not* 'announce' the event to the group

Reducing email

Please set your event so that Meetup does *not* automatically remind people about it. NoEmail.jpg
